At Villa Elmo, you could be forgiven for thinking you’d travelled back to a better, more beautiful time. This rustic four-bedroom property (with room for eight sleeping guests) is the picture of pastoral life. A place where people and nature happily coexist.
Of all our villa properties, this is one we suggest to those looking for absolute seclusion. You’re unlikely to see anyone, unless, of course, you take a 15-minute drive to the outstandingly attractive town of Orvieto, perched on the side of a cliff.
Adding to the charm is Villa Elmo’s backstory: what was once a ruin, was lovingly restored by the current owners into a space that reflects the unvarnished elegance of the Umbrian countryside: stone walls, timber-frame roofing and natural terracotta tiles.
A generous living and dining area comes with its own fireplace, country-style kitchen and yoga room. The garden – filled with mature olive trees – surrounds the property and leads you to a magnificent L-shaped swimming pool, with views across the valley.
