If we were to build and design our own Tuscan villa, it would probably look like this six-bedroom beauty near Porto Ercole. Why? The harmony between tradition, landscape and contemporary art is unparalleled.
It’s the sort of property you book when you have people to impress. Imagine you and 11 friends, family or colleagues around a pool, set amid an olive grove, vines and several statement works of art. Stupendo.
Villa Arte offers six double bedrooms – all with ensuite bathrooms – and will comfortably sleep 12 people. You’ll find two of the bedrooms in the newly refurbished outbuilding, which comes with a private terrace.
For group gatherings, there’s a sun-dappled alfresco dining space – and an outdoor oven beside it. Hire a private chef and have them turn out some wood-fired pizzas. Then enjoy a traditional cantuccini dessert before exploring the grounds for more art.
Villa Arte is set on the uniquely beautiful peninsula of Monte Argentario, connected to the mainland via three causeways. Panoramic views across the Tyrrhenian Sea hit a high note at tramonto (sunset).
