Step outside the front door and there it is – the Colosseum. One of the world’s most famous landmarks and a don’t-miss location for anyone visiting Rome. The timeless Casa Imperiale on Via del Cardello is also near the must-see Roman Forums.
Given its location, you’d be forgiven for thinking that this gorgeous three-bed apartment – sleeping up to six guests – was a noisy place to stay. And yet the thing that our guests remark on the most is how wonderfully tranquil it is – especially in the bedrooms.
That means you can fling open its huge, wooden windows and let the main living space be filled with light. All the better to appreciate the quality, contemporary art on the walls – just look at those canvases.
But what really stands out for us are its classic Roman fixtures and fittings, giving it both an authentic sense of place, but also a feeling of comfort. Perfect for quiet afternoons or evenings reading a good book.
An expansive open-plan living space means it’s rather good for socialising, too. A slick kitchen in the same space has everything you need to host friends, family or clients for aperitivo or dinner.
Located near to the Piazza Venezia, the hip Monti district really is ‘the’ place to be. Once you’ve had your fill of the main sites, stroll the vicoli for an afternoon peeking into vintage stores or having an espresso in one of Rome’s coolest cafés.
